Beginning Birder Hike to Owl Hollow

Categorized as: Nature & Outdoors
Event tags: Wildlife, Nature, Outdoors, Hiking

Description:

Join us at the River Center for this beginning birder walk to nearby Owl Hollow. We will start with a short hike around our ‘Hidden Homes Trail’ (approximately 45 minutes) before heading out on the 1.5 mile round-trip journey to Owl Hollow, looking and listening for various bird species along the way. Beginning birders will have the opportunity to practice species identification and hone their bird-watching skills.

Guide George Folsom has been involved with the River Parkway Trust for 18 years. He is retired from a 40 year career in the air conditioning industry, and has a great love of the outdoors. His main interest is field ornithology, but he also enjoys discussing habitat preservation, river history and restoration, Native American history, and water issues.

Please dress appropriately (closed toed shoes, long pants, etc.) and bring a hat, sunscreen, water, binoculars and a small snack.

Children 10+ welcome
