Take a break from the rush of everyday life and join the River Parkway Trust for a Respite by the River. Bring your picnic dinner, blanket and lawnRespite by the River chair, and relax on the Ranch House front lawn while you enjoy live dinner music provided by talented local musicians. Macca's Wine Bar will be open during the dinner hour with wines for sale by the glass. Then you'll enjoy a reading by a Central Valley author. New this season, dessert will be available for sale following the reading. Evening Schedule is as follows: 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. - Live dinner music by Two for the Road, bring your dinner, purchase your glass of wine 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. - Reading by local author Daniel Chacon 8:00 p.m. - Book sales and signing, dessert for sale Daniel Chacón is a Fresno native. His books include and the shadows took him, Chicano Chicanery, Unending Rooms and, Hotel Juárez: Stories, Rooms and Loops. He won an American Book Award, Pen Oakland, and the Hudson Prize. His novel, The Cholo Tree, is forthcoming in 2017. Two for the Road, Donn Beedle (fiddle/viola/mandolin) and Karana Hattersley-Drayton (vocals/keyboard/guitar) play Celtic and American roots music from Irish fiddle tune medleys to western swing and bluegrass favorites. The duo has played at a variety of local and regional events including Clovis Bluegrass in the Park, the Civil War Revisited, the Patio Cafe, the Bakersfield Scottish Games and the 2016 Rogue Festival
