Noemi Vega Quiñones co-authored the book Hermanas: Deeping Our Identity and Growing Our Influence, published by with InterVarsity Press. The other authors are Natalia Kohn and Kristy Garza Robinson. A review of the book for Sojourners magazine is at sojo.net/magazine/march-2019/latina-identity-and-bible. Since earning an M.A. from the seminary in 2017, Vega has become South Texas area director of InterVarsity Red River. She has been an adjunct professor at Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary and written for The Well and The High Calling. A native of Mexico, Vega moved with her family from Mexico to the U.S. when she was five and grew up in the Central Coast of California. According to InterVarsity: “Natalia Kohn, Noemi Vega Quiñones, and Kristy Garza Robinson share their own journeys as Latinas and leaders. They find mentorship in twelve inspirational women of the Bible including Esther, Rahab, Mary, and Lydia, who navigated challenges of brokenness and suffering, being bicultural, and crossing borders. As we deepen our spiritual and ethnic identities, we grow in intimacy with God and others and become better equipped to influence others for the kingdom. The insights here will help any who seek to empower Latinas in leadership.” Purchasing information is at ivpress.com/hermanas. Vega will sign books in the Seminary Conference Room, Seminary House. Books will be available for purchase.
