Juried iPhonography Exhibition and Opening Reception at Arts Visalia

In July 2018, Arts Visalia presents the first ever juried iPhonography exhibition. The iPhonography exhibition will display a variety of photographers who shoot and edit their own photography on a mobile or iOS device. Amateur and Advanced skill levels will be presented in both edited and unedited formats. Awards will be given for Best of Show and People’s Choice which will be presented at the opening reception. This exhibition celebrates the unique position that mobile devices play in the production of creative images and in the spontaneity they provide. This exhibition runs from July 5th through July 27th. The opening reception will be held on First Friday, July 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and is sponsored in part by Bueno Beverage, Jack & Charlie’s, the Vintage Press Restaurante, and the Southern Pacific Depot Restaurant. For August, Arts Visalia will be exhibiting the annual Young at Art exhibition. Young at Art is an exhibition of the work of the children’s art classes taking place this summer. Each artist will have at least one piece in the exhibit representing each of the summer’s theme of line, color, shape, space, form, value, and texture. Each class focuses on the seven elements of art with a strong emphasis of connecting artists and histories to each subject. Young at Art is always a popular time at Arts Visalia. Art classes for children and adults are ongoing at Arts Visalia. Our seven weeks of summer Young at Art children’s classes have started and focus on the basic elements of art – line, color, shape, space, form, value, and texture. Please download registration forms for classes and workshops from our website, or stop in and pick up the summer schedule at the gallery! Arts Visalia Visual Art Gallery and gift shop is open from noon to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and is located at 214 East Oak Avenue, Visalia, California 93291.
