The Fresno Art Museum's (FAM) main focus is on contemporary and modern art, photography, ethnographic, and cultural exhibitions which reflect and celebrate the diverse population of the San Joaquin Valley and California. Many of the exhibitions are curated in-house by borrowing directly from artists or from their permanent collection of over 3,500 items. The Museum also hosts traveling exhibitions. They have a heralded collection of Pre-Columbian artworks from Mexico and the Andes on permanent display.
In addition to thought-provoking and exciting exhibitions, the Fresno Art Museum provides the region's 1.6 million residents with a forum for contemporary and modern issues as they relate to art and culture, films, concerts, lectures, docent tours, and symposia to enlighten, educate, and entertain its visitors.
The Museum has a 150 seat auditorium, seven galleries with rotating exhibitions, a sculpture garden, a museum gift shop, a large classroom space, and is available as a rental event venue for meetings, parties, performing arts groups, private events and symposia, and weddings.
