Kingsburg in Fresno county has been doing some amazing things to improve its community. This appears to be the trend for the Fresno county area as a whole, as we recently shared in our article "Downtown Fresno Construction: Get Excited.

The National Association for County Community and Economic Development (NACCED), based in Washington D.C., recently awarded Kingsburg the Award of Excellence. The award went to the county’s Community Development Division for their HOME Investment Partnerships Program. $1 million of the funds were from the HOME program.

$9 million Kingsburg Marion Villas Senior Apartments, a 45-unit community, had a goal of creating affordable housing for seniors. With the help of the HOME program, whose goals are to provide grants and funds for affordable housing, this was made possible.

The community is very excited about this project and is expecting more to come in the future.
