We had a few questions about the Fresno Dolphins, and were able to get in touch with Owner and Head Coach Rick Klatt to have them answered. See attached PDF for even more information.
What is the history of the Fresno Dolphins? How long has the team been around?
The Fresno Dolphins Swim Team was incorporated as a parent-owned team, the "Fig Garden Dolphins" in 1981. The name of the corporation subsequently changed to the "Fresno Fig Garden Dolphins" and later to its current name, the Fresno Dolphins Swim Team.
The team was once associated with the Fig Garden Swim and Racquet Club (FGSRC), but that relationship ended when FGSRC formed its own team in 2006. The ownership of the team was transferred to Coach Rick Klatt on June 1, 2014. We currently train at Bullard High School.
What is your role with the Dolphins?
I am the owner/head coach. The team is supported in its mission by a non-profit corporation, the Fresno Dolphins Swim Team Booster Club.
What is the ultimate goal of the Fresno Dolphins? Who can join?
Please see attached brochure. Membership is open to youth and adult members who have had swim lessons and can swim 25 yards of freestyle or backstroke.
How can people sign up to join? Is there an age limit?
The age range is from 5 to 105! Please call (559) 448-7676 and arrange for a swimming assessment.
Are there any upcoming events that we should know about?
Members of the Fresno Dolphins Swim Team compete regularly in local, regional and national events. The next meet we host is on November 19-20, 2016 at Bullard High School.
