For the Love of Dance: California Arts Academy Showcases Original Pieces

Apr 18, 2016 03:35PM ● By Melanie Heisinger

Anna Lippert (age 14)

For the Love of Dance is part of California Arts Academy's annual Spring Concert tradition, wherein all of their ballet students demonstrate their skills through technical presentation, or "Etudes", as it's called, and performance of original choreography.

This beautiful, full-length concert celebrates dance with two acts. The Etudes portion demonstrates the differences between ballet levels, where the students follow the American Ballet Theatre (ABT) curriculum, which places them in levels 1-6. The second act features original pieces created by their teacher, as well as the students, including the Artistic Director Carla Stallings-Lippert, Daniel Chavez Jr, Jasmin Kloos, Margaret Hord, Zachary Garcia, and more.

For the Love of Dance will be held upstairs at the California Arts Academy in the historic Severance Theatre at 1401 N Wishon Ave.

Friday, April 22nd
