Fresno Grizzlies Win First-ever League Title

Sep 21, 2015 06:29PM ● By Kevin
For the first time in franchise history, the Fresno Grizzlies are Pacific Coast League champions. The Astros club took down the Texas Rangers' Round Rock on Sunday, 7-3, to achieve the major milestone.

Fresno will play the Columbus Clippers (Cleveland)
in the Triple-A National Championship Game on Tuesday in El Paso. Columbus is the International League champion. The showdown will air on NBC at 5:05 p.m.

Mark Appel was the game's winning pitcher, striking out 10 in 5 and 2/3 innings. The Astros have a lot to be excited about, as Rookie-level Greenville also took the league crown in 2015.

We here at Central California Life congratulate the Grizzlies on this history-making event!
